Sustainability

We employ energy efficient systems for lighting, heating, and cooling.

Our in-room skincare partnership with Aesop offers guests cruelty-free products from a company that uses earth friendly packaging, practices, and ingredients.

Composting leftover food to replant in garden soil.

In our commitment to sustainability, you have the option to re-use towels and bed linen at your discretion during your stay with us. You can simply leave a ‘Reuse’ note in a visible location in your room. This will indicate your desire to help conserve resources by using the same towels and bed linen for an extended period.

We offer an electric shuttle, electric charging ports, and support electric rental car businesses.

Our cleaning products do not contain harsh chemicals and ingredients that are damaging to our bodies and our planet.

Our onsite restaurants offer farm to table and sea to table foods, from our own garden, as well as locally grown or caught ingredients from green certified vendors.
For our Coffee we have sourced SAQUELLA CAFFE’.
In 2013 Saquella focused the importance of the value of equality and sustainability by gaining a fairtrade certificate. This international trademark supports the disadvantage farm producers in developing countries, guaranteeing them a fair price and supporting them into commercial trading by clear and correct regulations, therefore improving their living standards.
Today Saquella produces a coffee blend “Bar Italia Fairtrade” where there are 4 different coffee origins from Peru, Colombia, Brazil and India which complement each other perfectly and give a well-balanced flavor with a round and delicate taste.
Saquella gained these certificates: UNI EN ISO 9001, BRC, IFS, FDA, Faitrade, Kosher
For our Teas and Herbal Teas we have sourced DAMMAN Frères
Dammann Frères is IFS FOOD V6 Certified, a leading reference in the quality and safety assurance of food products. This certification is designed to ensure that food producers and suppliers monitor the quality and safety of their products. It includes some 300 requirements, from the purchase of raw ingredients to the shipping of products.Every year they are audited by an independent office in order to this certification, to be renewed and since 2013 we have continued to receive high marks (97.45% in 2017). Dammann Frères is a member of the UN Global Compact, which means it works on improving its work methods, areas related to human rights (adults & children) in the workplace, the fight against corruption and respect for the environment. They require to all of our suppliers to sign this charter too.

Our concierge offers unique local outings that encourage sustainability and environmental education including tours with local farmers, fishing expeditions, and more.

We work alongside the town of Praiano to conserve rainwater and have implemented water purifiers where guests can refill glass bottles.

We use sustainable cultivation methods in our garden including avoiding waste and pollution, increased organic content to promote soil fertility, the use of natural plant defenses, vegetative-productive development of endogenous plants, and more.
